Yesterday, I spent some time with my friend, Daphne, at South Point Farms. I took English riding lessons from Daphne when I was 19 years old (before I was a mom). I miss the jumping and hope to take lessons again one day...from Daphne of course, 'cause she's the best!!!
I brought along my camera for a little photography fun and thought I'd share a few of my favorites...
These thoroughbred fillies were so excited to have some new visitors, they decided to show off a little....
Love this little filly's natural highlights...

I don't go to Southpoint often, but Joe and I sometimes help when Daphne's barn guy has a day off, or there's extra work. There are times out there when it's like paradise ... at sunrise or sunset on a calm day when the horses are coming in to be fed. But other times it's hellish ... haying and feeding at 7 a.m. with the temperature in the teens and a stiff north wind. Brrr. They had a huge rainstorm once that flooded the whole barn. Mud and slop from the indoor arena covered everything six inches deep and we shoveled for hours.
