12 day old sweetness

I met this sweet family almost exactly 2 years ago after the birth of their first child. So, I was beyond excited to get the email letting me know that they had a new little one and they wanted me to come photograph her! As many of you know, I'm a real baby lover! But, I have to say this little girl was a particularly easy newborn to photograph! She was so content and absolutely adorable!! 

This first one is so special...it not only captures the new baby, but also the smile on her proud daddy's face :)

  

 

Do you see the concerned look on big brother's face? He's not upset about the new baby in his home...it's the umbilical cord that's got him really worried. Sweet little guy really wanted to try to wipe it off :) 

 

 

This next one is one of my personal favorites!

 

 

Had to catch this moment of sweet momma love...sigh

 

And of course, a few with just big brother!! 

 

 

It was a truly beautiful day! And I'm so happy to know that this family will always have these images to remember it!

Honeymoon snapshot...becomes piece of Art

I was chatting with a close friend of mine recently and mentioned how I've had this idea for a while....I'd love to take regular snapshots from honeymoons and create pieces of art! They don't have to be the best pictures in the world, with the best coloring, or perfectly cropped because all those things can be adjusted in the painting process. 

So, we went over and opened my friend's honeymoon photo album and found a great shot...it was taken from the balcony of their hotel room in ITALY. It really was a beautiful picture, but even more than that, it was an image that could instantly take them both back to that balcony...to that moment in time...to the beginning of their marriage. All I had to do...recreate it as an amazing piece of art!

When I was finished, my friend brought the painting out to show her husband (who didn't know anything about my little project) and he instantly recognized it...then suggested they open a bottle of wine, snuggle up on the couch together, and watch their wedding video :) 

That was possibly the best complement to my work that I could have heard!

The painting has been framed and hung. It's always fun for me to see my work (art or photography) framed and hung in a home...it's like they've been dressed and they're finally complete.

Connor :: Senior Session

I could tell as soon as I arrived, that Connor, like most high school guys, wasn't thrilled about having his picture taken. And yes, that honestly made me a little nervous...because even the best photographer in the world can't cover up the unhappy look in a teenager's eyes. So, I took a deep breath and did my best to convince him that I really wasn't such a horrible person to hang out with for a while... 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So, how did I do? Well, I asked his mom if he had any favorites images from the session and she said he likes all of them...YAY!! That made my day :)
